Core operations
Sleeve gastrectomy
A smaller stomach that changes meal capacity and hunger signaling. Sleeve and banded sleeve have different eating experiences; reflux and eating patterns matter in selection.
Gastric bypass
A small stomach pouch connected to a Roux limb. Reflux, sweet intake, dumping tolerance and long-term nutritional needs are part of the discussion.
Duodenal switch
Sleeve plus intestinal bypass, with substantial metabolic effects and a greater nutritional burden. Protein, supplements, bowel effects and lifelong monitoring matter.
